User Interface Structure
The EYEVIONICS App user interface supports either one or two Panels. Each Panel contains a so called Portal in the center and Fold-Outs at the edges. At each edge, there can be one Fold-Out open at a time.
Various screen sizes are supported by the App. The layout of panels adapts depending on the screen size and device orientation. For smaller screens, the availability of Fold-Outs may be reduced.
Example: 2 Panels, No Open Fold-Outs
This screenshot shows the App with 2 Panels. The left Panel contains the PFD Portal, the right Panel contains the MFD Portal. Available Fold-Outs are displayed at the edges of each Panel.
Fold-Outs
There are many different Fold-Out types in the EYEVIONICS App. They can contain a variety of displays, such as system controls like the Autopilot Fold-Out and Radio Fold-Out, or auxilliary displays like the Engine Fold-Out, just to name a few.
Fold-Outs can be opened and closed by a single tap and thus offer high flexibility for customization of the App layout to pilot preference and requirements of the mission or phase of flight.
The availability of certain Fold-Outs in a Panel depends on multiple factors:
- Fold-Out position (top or side edge)
- Portal type (PFD, MFD, etc)
- Screen size
- potentially, add-ons or subscriptions
To open and close a Fold-Out, tap on a button at the edge of the screen. To switch from one Fold-Out to another, simply tap on the button for the Fold-Out you would like to open – closing the previously open Fold-Out is not necessary.
In this handbook and other EYEVIONICS user guides, navigation through Fold-Outs is usually described with the abbreviation of the Fold-Out name, like "SYS", followed by the name of a button or submenu.
For example, "SYS → Terrain Quality" refers to the Terrain Quality button in the System Fold-Out (abbreviated "SYS" in the User Interface).
Example: 2 Panels, Some Fold-Outs Open (Landscape Mode)
his screenshot shows the App with 2 Panels. The left Panel contains the PFD Portal, the right Panel contains the MFD Portal. The Radio Fold-Out in the PFD Panel and the Autopilot Fold-Out in the MFD Panel are opened.
Example: 2 Panels, Some Fold-Outs Open (Portrait Mode)
The next screenshot shows a similar layout as the screenshot above, but rotated to Portrait orientation. In addition to an Autopilot Fold-Out and a Radio Fold-Out, the Nearest Fold-Out shows airports near the current position of the airplane.
Layout Customization
Beside Fold-Outs, the App layout can be customized further by:
- Changing Panel sizes
- Switching Portal types
Resizing Panels
Both Panels can be resized and one of the Panels can be hidden. To do this, open the SYS Fold-Out, then enter the Panel Layout submenu (scroll down for video). Here you can find multiple layout options.
The layout options are named according to the ratio the panels take up on the screen. To hide one or the other panel, use the 100 | 0 and the 0 | 100 preset.
Example: Changing Panel Layout
Switching Portal Types
To change the Portal type of either Panel, click the SYS Fold-Out in the Panel in which you woud like to change the Portal type.
For example, to change the left Portal to an MFD, click SYS → Portal Type in the left Panel.
Vice versa, to change the right Portal to another type, click SYS → Portal Type in the right Panel.
