Graphics & Performance Settings
Learn about the various settings that affect 2D and 3D graphics rendering and performance of the EYEVIONICS App.
Many graphics settings in the EYEVIONICS App offer an Ultra preset, which is the highest possible setting. Using such settings may affect performance of the app, especially on slower tablets.
How to change these Settings
To change any of these settings, open the SYS Fold-Out and tap on the respective setting. For example:
Settings in Detail
Factory Reset
This resets the EYEVIONICS App to the default settings.
Terrain Quality
This setting affects the visual quality of 3D Terrain rendering anywhere in the EYEVIONICS App. Places affected are, for example, the PFD in 3D Mode, the MFD and the PFD Inset Map.
More specifically, this setting will affect:
- 2D map imagery resolution
- 3D vertex count of rendered terrain
Object Quality
The Object Quality setting affects the visual detail of object representations anywhere in the EYEVIONICS App. Places affected are, for example, the PFD in 3D Mode, the MFD and the PFD Inset Map.
Affected by this setting are:
- Maximum visible distance of aeronautical elements
- Amount of detail in representations of aeronautical elements, such as runway markings
- Presence of text labels for aeronautical elements
High-Res 3D
This setting toggles high resolution 3D rendering on or off. Consider turning this setting off for tablets with a low resolution display, for example less than 1280*720px, since it can affect performance slightly.
Anti-Alias
Anti-Aliasing helps prevent rendering jagged edges and corners. If you have a low resolution display, consider turning this setting off as it may affect performance slightly.
Text Size
Changes the size of the user interface text globally. Experiment with this setting to find the text size that works best for your tablet.
Cache Mode
Some EYEVIONICS versions support different modes of caching data downloaded from EYEVIONICS servers. The available cache modes are Local and Distributed.
It is recommended to use the Local cache mode, even though it may stream slightly more data. Due to the nature of Microsoft Flight Simulator's add-on integration, Distributed cache mode may cause stutters in the simulator.
Cache Mode Comparison
Local | Distributed | |
---|---|---|
Where is data cached? | On the tablet running the EYEVIONICS App | On the PC running MSFS |
Advantages | MSFS may run with significantly less stutters than with Distributed cache mode. | Streams less data from EYEVIONICS servers when running the EYEVIONICS App on multiple devices. |
Disadvantages | Streams more data from EYEVIONICS servers when running the EYEVIONICS App on multiple devices. | May cause stutters in MSFS. |
